"Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book."

This is the fourth novel in the Throne Of Glass series after Heir Of Fire. Aelin got the information she wanted from Maeve about wyrdkeys along with a carranam. Rowan Whitethorn is bloodsworn to Aelin and will protect her at any cost. Dorian is enslaved by a valgcolar, Aedion is imprisoned in the dungeons and Chaol fled the Glass Castle.

Aelin/Celaena is back in Adarlan and visits her old master and King of Assassins, Arobryn Hamel. She obtained information about everything and decides to find Chaol. She meets with Nesryn Falik, a rebel sympathizer, who works with Chaol to save people from valg demons and ship them to other continents. Aelin goes back to her apartment, which she has bought before she was sent to Endovier and surprisingly finds an unexpected guest. Lysandra warns her about Arobryn's secret plot and later both starts trusting each other. Their hate turns into friendship.

Aelin plans to free Aedion with the help of Chaol and Nesryn on Dorian's birthday. As Dorian is possessed by the valg demon, he is in control of the King. Later, Aedion is on house arrest due to injuries and the cousins share their past with each other. Chaol tells her about the magic block and how to free magic.

On the other hand, Manon Blackbeak discovers that Elide Lochan, Lady of Perranth, a slave in Morath, prisoned by her own uncle, has witch blood running in her veins. Elide was prisoned by her uncle after her father's death and was caged from a very young age. Elide helps Manon uncover horrors of Morath in exchange of protection from her uncle.

Rowan arrives in Adarlan and informs Aelin about Lorcan's nefarious plans. She makes a plan to kill Arobryn and makes Lysandra do it. Later, they all discovers that Arobryn revealed the truth about Lysandra's biology before dying and now she is captured and on her way to Morath. Everyone including Aelin, Rowan, Aedion, Chaol and Nesryn goes to save her, but Chaol have some other plans. He is captured by the Thirteen while he was trying to kill Dorian.

Manon is in life debt to Aelin and now she must find a way to help her somehow. Later, she helps Elide in escaping from Morath and Kailtain destroys the mountain. Where will their journey take them?

On the other hand, Aelin and her crew free the magic and Dorian from the valg. Dorian kills his father and destroys the Glass Castle. Now, Aelin must return home.

• My review : This book is my favourite from the series. Aelin's new journey will start from here. More shocking truths will be uncovered ahead.
